Mission Statement: Galveston Island Nature Tourism Council’s (GINTC) mission is to connect people with Galveston’s natural environment. In its 19th year, GINTC hosts the biggest birding festival in Texas, Galveston FeatherFest, as well as other nature related events and activities, offers outreach and education opportunities, and promotes the importance of our natural environment through our programs, partnerships, and collaborations.

Position Description: The Project Coordinator will help in the planning and implementation of fun and meaningful indoor and outdoor nature programs and activities, as well as provide administrative office support. The Project Coordinator will also have opportunities to engage with like-minded organizations across the region.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning and overseeing of all GINTC events and programs
• Facilitate outreach/community engagement activities and events
• Assist the Program Manager with the Bird City Texas program as needed
• Create and coordinate volunteer management and recruitment program.
• Provide administrative support for communications, including management of GINTC’s online presence and social media, program logistics and the membership database.

Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED or higher
• At least two years of experience in office management
• Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe
•Flexibility to work in an office setting as well as out in the community
• Ability to create engaging and original multimedia content
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of our local ecosystem and surrounding natural environment
• Volunteer coordination experience

• Reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance
• Availability to work some evenings and weekends as needed
